One of the most powerful tools I’ve found for doing business in Edina, MN is the Edina Chamber of Commerce, located at 3300 Edinborough Way #150 Edina, MN 55435, 952-806-9060. 2012 marks their 40th Anniversary as a chamber, which is a remarkable achievement. Having been part of business chambers before, I can tell you I have never seen a more organized, committed, and generous group of chamber staff and volunteers than I have seen at the Edina Chamber. Demographically, 66% of the Chamber membership have businesses in Edina and do business here. Moreover, out of the 3700 businesses in Edina, over 400 are Chamber members. Those 400+ Edina business members are truly invested in the community through their generous gift of time, talent, and treasure they give both as individuals and in their capacity as Chamber members.

As a member business myself, I can tell you there are many ways to get involved in the Edina Chamber of Commerce: networking, business-to-business support & outreach, and community giving. As far as networking goes, there are weekly networking group groups called Edina One and Edina Two, a monthly networking event called At Your Business Break with each one hosted by a different Chamber business, and a monthly speaker meeting called General Membership Meeting with powerful speakers on a variety of important business topics. If you want to support local businesses, you can join either the Ambassadors (meets with brand new Chamber members — this is what I do, and it is fabulous!) or Diplomats (meets with existing members). These groups meet monthly for lunch, are very social and fun, and will help you build long-lasting relationships with other local business owners. Finally, for those interested in community service, the Edina Chamber hosts a variety of fundraising events, including an Annual Golf Tournament in September, an Emerald Gala Event in February, and the Taste of Edina Food & Wine Event in May. Each of these has a special events committee you can join, as well as numerous sponsorship opportunities.
